For 70 years Vent-Axia has been supplying heating and ventilation solutions to all housing sectors across the UK, whether for private houses or large developments. Vent-Axia's energy efficient and sustainable heating and ventilation solutions cater for all concerns regarding energy, condensation, pollutants and allergy control.

Asthma and other respiratory illnesses are on the increase. The rise of the asthma epidemic can be directly attributed to the drive for increased energy efficiency. Increasing levels of insulation, combined with double glazing and the sealing of open chimneys, has dramatically reduced domestic ventilation rates.
This has in turn produced warm, humid and polluted indoor environments, and that has provided the perfect breeding ground for the house dust mite. House dust mites excrete a range of allergens of which eight out of ten asthmatic children in the UK are allergic to.

A growing number of Doctors in Canada are now prescribing the HEPA 2000 to their asthma sufferers. The HEPA 2000 can reduce the symptoms that can aggravate asthma and respiratory illnesses. In some cases the HEPA 2000 can actually reduce the amount of medication needed. The continuous air movement produced by the unit reduces humidity, thus reducing mould growth and eliminating the house dust mite, which are the number one contributing factors to respiratory illness in the home.

The HEPA 2000 is an air circulation unit that incorporates a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, which provides cleaner air for you and your family and protects them from particles that aggravate asthma and respiratory illnesses.
The HEPA 2000 unit provides clean, fresh indoor air all year round, by continuously introducing clean filtered air into your bedrooms through a small ceiling grille mounted in the corner of the room. The main benefit of the unit is the HEPA filter which cleans the internal air and removes unwanted particles, such as dust, bugs and pollen.
Another benefit is that continuous air movement reduces humidity and can prevent the build up of condensation on your windows and the unsightly mould patches that can appear in the corner of some rooms. The HEPA can also kill off the house dust mite that can aggravate asthma and other bronchial problems and prevent puffy eyes and sneezing that some people experience when they first wake up.

The HEPA 2000 is unobtrusive and can be installed in your loft space, simply and easily with little or no disruption to your home.
It is usually installed close to the loft hatch so that access is easy when you need to check or change the filter. On top of the unit are air turrets, these are connected to air ducting that runs round the outside of your loft and joins up to the discreet and unobtrusive ceiling grilles that are cut into the bedroom ceiling, usually in the corner furthest from the door. A ceiling grille is mounted in the landing which pulls air out of the bedrooms, giving continuous air movement.

HEPA 2000 installed in loft space, where the unit extracts, filters and reintroduces the indoor air. The constant circulation of air ensures that 30% of the clean air is mixed with fresh air from the outside.
Once it is fitted, you would not even know the HEPA 2000 is there. But your health and well-being of your family will be proof that the HEPA is working.

Fresh clean air is pushed into the bedroom at a low speed so no draughts are felt, it is then pulled back up into the unit from the landing grille, this continuous push, pull effect is what cleans and freshens the air.
What gives the air that real fresh feeling? Air is bought into the unit from the outside, this fresh air is also filtered and some of it is mixed with the circulating air in your home.
Please note: The HEPA 2000 is an air cleaning unit and cannot be used instead of or to replace extract ventilation.

The HEPA 2000 is very easy and simple to operate, and no special training is required. The HEPA is operated either via a controller which can be mounted in a central and convenient location in the house (landing area) or out of the way in a cupboard.
Dependent on your and your family’s needs, you have the ability to activate the settings to suit your requirements.
For example, if the weather is very hot and humid, and there is very little air movement in the house, you might want the HEPA to work at a higher speed (using the boost setting) to ensure a more comfortable home environment. If family members are suffering from pollen allergies, it would be beneficial to increase the speed during high-pollen seasons. Under normal circumstances, you would leave it at Normal speed, which means the HEPA 2000 is continually filtering your home air at a low speed.

Gavin is an 11-year old boy who has been suffering from asthma during most of his life. He was on constant medication until the HEPA 2000 came into his life.
Having explored various options to improve Gavin’s health, his family decided to take part in a pilot installation of a HEPA 2000 in their home. Less than 4 weeks later, Kevin Sargeant, Chief Executive Officer, of Vent-Axia Ltd, received the following letter from Gavin himself.
To Kevin
I would like to thank you and your workmen for fitting the ventilation system. It has helped me immensely. Before we got the system every morning I woke up with a blocked up nose, coughing ad struggling to breathe. This affected me throughout
the day, not only at school but at my tennis and football. At tennis I could not put the effort I wanted to into the sport I also had to sit out and use my inhaler. This upset me greatly, but since the ventilators have been fitted I wake up and breathe freely. This means I can take part in all my sport and the best part is I haven’t had to use my inhaler since.
Thank you so much for helping me with the asthma I have suffered with.
Yours sincerely
Gavin
